Although Vidalin is (and always will be) free because I use it myself on a daily basis for my own videos, it takes a ton of effort to 'clean it up' for general release on MacUpdate for everyone to enjoy. Vidalin has been downloaded 6,900 times with a high overall rating, yet I've received 27 donations.Ī quick note to everyone. The 'free and please donate if it's useful' software release model is an abject failure, in my experience. If Vidalin *does* end up making a return to MacUpdate, it will be released as a feature-limited version that will require purchase to unlock it's full potential. This will accomplish my own goal of reducing the time and energy overhead associated with posting software on services like MacUpdate, as well as keeping my word to continue to provide updates to those who have graciously donated since Vidalin's initial release. As I work to improve Vidalin and rewrite many of its core components for greater speed and stability, I will be emailing those who donated and giving them an opportunity to download the newer non-public release version when it's ready. To the few individuals who took the time to donate, please accept my many thanks. After careful consideration of my time constraints, I've decided to no longer develop Vidalin in its current publicly-released form.
